UK 2019: Two Muslim men arrested in UK on suspicion of planning to kidnap and murder woman who renounced Islam.
Mohammed Patman, 54, and Darya Khan Safi, 49, both originally from Afghanistan, were detained by officers from the NCA's Armed Operations Unit (AOU) at their respective homes in London and Coventry on Wednesday 4 September.
According to sharia laws an honor killing is the homicide of a member of a family, due to the perpetrators' belief that the victim has brought shame or dishonor upon the family.
Shari'a honor killing is very common in the Muslim world, but it also happens in the West, in countries such as Britain, the United States and even the Netherlands.
