Iranian women's rights activist Masih Alinejad has been repeatedly attacked and threatened by Islamists and regime agents in Iran over her activities to promote human rights and freedom for Iranian women.

Under Iranian strict modesty laws women are not allowed to dance, sing, show their hair in public or even leave home without the permission of the "male guardian".

Yesterday, the Friday Prayers Imam of Esfahan, Tabatabai said: "We should make the city unsafe for unveiled women". When he made a similar declaration 4 years ago, women were subjected acid attacks.
